Good morning brothers and sisters,
I wanted to share some events of the summer.
- PIEDMONT…after almost 3 years of bargaining, the vote is in, Piedmont’s TA has finally been ratified!
- The 2nd CWA PASSENGER SERVICE CONVENING took place in LAS last week.
We gained a lot of knowledge from the Senior Research Associate, Angela Hatcher. They have a new one-day training course designed specifically for passenger service. It combines the history of CWA, enforcing our contracts, mobilizing and bargaining under the Railway Labor Act. They went over health and safety in the workplace and artificial intelligence.
I brought up concerns about working oversold and full SAB flights.
- Picnic… we had our end of the summer picnic with Envoy.
- New Hires…we had a hiring event on August 10th, hired 80 full-time agents.
- Tow Crew…remember they are to assist during tow pulls, they do not meet live inbounds.
- Contract interpretation…we have had several sessions to help educate members on understanding the contract. If you have not had the opportunity to attend, we plan to conduct more sessions. This is to help you understand what is in the contract and what is not!
- Membership meeting…September 3rd at Dino’s Pizza. Please come, every opinion matters.
- Election time…This is an election year; I am going to run again. I enjoy what I do, and I enjoy helping members learn and understand our contract.
