    • What's New at CWA 4201

Another year has passed, filled with both highs and lows. With the holiday season upon us, it’s a time to gather with family and friends and reflect on good memories. Looking back at our Union family, we’ve made solid progress over the past two years, though there’s still more to do. We may be a young union, but we’re moving forward. Our strength comes not just from our numbers, but from learning and understanding. With two years left on our current contract, it’s important to know it inside and out so we can push for the changes we need next time. This year, about 40 members took part in contract interpretation sessions, and I hope to see that number grow next year. The more informed we are, the stronger our future will be. Right now, the contract doesn’t address walk time, solo agent flights, shift breaks, and other long-standing issues. My aim is for everyone to understand what’s in the current agreement so we can focus on what needs to change. Membership meetings are held quarterly, providing a great chance to share concerns and make sure your voice is heard, so try to attend if you can.

Our Piedmont members also need support as their negotiations continue. Talks began on October 23, 2023, but have stalled due to the government shutdown, with plans to resume early next year. Many Piedmont members earn just $12 an hour, and efforts like three informational pickets have helped raise public awareness. Support is essential to help them secure not only better pay but a fair contract.

It’s an honor to serve as President, and I’m sincerely thankful for the opportunity. Wishing you a Safe, Happy, and Prosperous New Year.

      In unity,

      Anita L Pearson

      Good afternoon brothers and sisters,

As we close out the year, I would like to start by wishing everyone a Happy Holiday.  I have a few items I would like to discuss with everyone.

      • Next year’s quarterly membership meetings will be held on 3/3, 6/3, 9/3, and 12/3/2026.
      • I am conducting contract interpretation sessions. Please email or text me if you are interested in joining.
      • If you have an issue with a coworker, please come to the Union before going to management.  If you take it to management, all members will have a document of the discussion (ECR) put in their file.
      • AA issued uniforms or approved company accessories may be worn with the uniform. If you have questions about the uniform policy, please look on Jetnet under:

Customer Care and Premium Guest Services Uniform and Image Standards and Article 23 Uniforms (A) in the CBA.

The company ordered black scarfs with the 100-year logo for Customer Care; we should get them hopefully before Christmas.

      • Many members have questions and concerns about the Holidays.  Please check Jetnet under Attendance Policy (IBT/CWA).

Concerns about losing a holiday vacation day, please read: Article 19/C - Holiday Vacations (1) b & c (page 88) in the CBA.

      In unity,

      Anita Pearson
